Earth Day Rally Press Conference at NC State Today

Climate change in North Carolina is something we can all make an impact on. Join NC Climate Solutions Coalition, the Sierra Club, Environment North Carolina, The Climate Reality Project, and Appalachian Voices among others to rally for change in our climate this Earth Day. The rally is at NC State today, April 22, 2019, at 1:00 p.m.at Stafford Commons. Local clean energy experts, like Yes Solar Solutions Co-founder and President Stew Miller will have (short!) remarks about how renewable energy affects all of our day-to-day lives, the economy, and the climate.

NC Climate Solutions Coalition Program Director Amanda Robertson brought the attention of Yes Solar Solutions to the rally today. Amanda is a longtime advocate for clean energy and proved it when she had Yes Solar install a solar array of 18.29 kW on her own home and added 3 Tesla Powerwalls.  Amanda is also part of the Chatham Clean Path initiative and has served in many roles with many organizations committed to climate change.

The mission of the Coalition is to identify and implement solutions to avert climate catastrophe. From the website: “We do this by bringing together diverse climate organizations and people to support, accelerate, and amplify their work. We provide tools to empower local communities and individuals to take urgent action – especially in support of vulnerable and fragile communities – to create green jobs and to rapidly transition to a 100% clean, sustainable, renewable energy economy.”

Other organizations you can hear from, learn from and support include the NC Interfaith Power and Light and the NC Council of Churches, ecoAmerica, Clean Air Carolina, Ignite Change and the NC League of Conservation Voters.

Despair won’t change the climate, only action will.  Join Yes to rally today for Earth Day and every day to mitigate climate change.
