Last night, Elon Musk took to twitter to announce the much anticipated news: Solar roof (solar shingles) sales would begin in most countries throughout the world starting today (May 10, 2017). Musk/Tesla also put forth a delivery date in the US in late 2017. Also as important as the revolutionary solar roof news, the warranty information was released as well. Tesla calls it the infinity warranty, ensuring that the tiles will last for the life of your house, or infinity, if that happens to come first. By now, you may have seen the Tesla solar glass vs. traditional roof tile gif, if you have not, it is here on the Tesla site. The gif, shows a two inch hailstone traveling at about 110MPH, and on impact destroying the traditional roofs, while leaving just an impact mark on the tempered glass Tesla solar tile.
