North Carolina Solar Installer Jobs
Yahoo Finance lists North Carolina among the eight states which count “solar panel installer” as the fastest growing job category. California, Hawaii, New Mexico, Florida, North Carolina, Missouri, Minnesota, and New Jersey all see solar panel installers as the number one job growth due to the demand for solar. In 2017, the occupation saw a median pay of $18.98 per hour, or $39,490 per year. It’s projected to grow 105 percent by 2026, which is significantly faster than the national rate.
NABCEP
One way to help solar installers develop and increase their earnings is for them to get certified by the North American Board of Energy Practitioners (NABCEP). Yes Solar Solutions is the only solar installation company in the Carolinas (and one of only eleven in the U.S.) and Yes has more individual certifications than any other company in North Carolina. Although Yes Solar provides the additional training and exam fees, which can be thousands of dollars, those certifications belong to the solar installer. Yes increases the salary of those who have earned their certification, but it may also qualify the employee for a better opportunity at another company that is larger or has other jobs than Yes.
