Preston is a neighborhood in Cary, N.C. full of beautiful homes. It also has stringent Home Owners Associations guidelines. Tommy and Gina Long joined solar adopters when they asked Yes Solar to install a 5.88 kW solar array on their roof. They needed a new roof on their home, and decided this was the perfect time to add solar. The system includes 21 REC modules of 280 watts each with a SolarEdge inverter and optimizers. Tommy Long had done his homework on solar. He also came to our office to see which modules and inverters might be a good fit. He sat down with our Energy Specialist Drew Chandler to get all his questions answered.
Home Owners Association Approved Solar
Our rendering of the solar system was submitted to the Preston HOA, along with photos of arrays using the recommended equipment. His request was easily approved. Having your solar company put together appropriate documentation equals Homeowners Association Approved Solar. Check dsireusa for more information about solar access laws.
“As an engineer, solar energy systems are an exciting technology. After working with Drew at Yes Solar to see what kind of system made sense to use on my house and orientation, a 5.8kW system was installed late last fall along with a consumption meter so that I could monitor how much power was produced, consumed, and exported back to the power company. I love when I come home at the end of the day to see how much power was produced, and as the short winter days become longer, I get to watch the production continue to increase. Love the new system! Can’t wait to see how much it will produce as the year goes on!”- Tommy Long
When an engineer chooses Yes to install his solar, it makes us especially proud. Thank you Tommy and Gina!
