When Colin and Deanna Crossman, owners of the AAA Four Diamond King’s Daughters Inn in Durham, NC decided to build The Mayton Inn in downtown Cary, they turned to Yes Solar Solutions. Wanting a local solar company, and one that shared their commitment to being a sustainable business and being Green Plus Certified, Yes was an easy answer. Their needs were for both solar electricity and solar hot water, and our solution was a SunDrum hybrid system.
The 142 Suniva photovoltaic modules are 275 watts each, connected to three Fronius inverters, and will generate approximately 51,570 kWh per year. The 33 solar thermal panels provide hot water to the 1040 gallon tank. The Crossmans use solar hot water at the King’s Daughters Inn and have taken an even bigger step toward using energy responsibly with the Mayton Inn system.
The Inn is beautiful and eclectic and the house behind (moved from across the street!) will be their new family home. They are truly innovators and committed to the community and the environment.
