This solar system was facilitated by the City of Raleigh LMI projects through the Triangle Sustainability Partnership program. The program is designed for low-to-moderate-income (LMI) households and provides free solar to eligible homeowners. Moreover, the program utilizes local government funds and federal grants. Yes Solar Solutions has been providing solar to low and middle income homes through federal and local grants in 2023.
This system features 10 405w Q Cells panels with 10 Enphase IQ8+ Microinverters. The Raleigh LMI projects will typically offset around 50% of each home’s energy cost. Generally, this is an immediate savings as there is no investment for the homeowner.
This homeowner could not have been more pleased with her new system. She spent the morning taking photos and videos of the installation crew as they secured the safety harnesses. Later, she watched as they worked their way from one panel to the next. It was not a complicated system, so the installation was completed early quickly. Afterwards, a member of the Yes Solar team sat down with her to explain what to expect from her system and answer additional questions. She was overjoyed.
Yes Solar’s experience with Raleigh LMI projects has positioned us to be a key stakeholder in the Solar for All grant program. This grant program allocated $156,120,000 to the state of North Carolina. Overall, the Solar for All program aims to provide over 900,000 low-income and disadvantaged households across America with the benefits of solar energy and advance environmental justice in the process.
