Solarize Orange, a grassroots initiative to bring simple and affordable solar power to Orange County N.C. homeowners, announces the launch of another grass-roots solar community program in September 2014. Solarize Orange is brought to the community by the same non-profit that sponsored Solarize Carrboro, Next Climate. Yes Solar Soluitons, a NABCEP Accredited Solar Installation company, is again a designated installer. Solarize Carrboro was a great success, with a population of about 20,000, of which less than half owned a home, reaching Tier 3 pricing with just under 200 kilowatts installed.
With the Solarize Orange discounts, plus state and federal tax incentives, now is a great time to go solar. At upcoming information meetings, the Solarize Orange team will step homeowners through the process, including solar equipment, tax incentives, installation, and financing. Local solar homeowners will also be on hand to answer questions.
Solarize programs bring neighbors together to earn group discounts in a limited enrollment period. The program will launch the first week of September and close at the end of November 2014. The limited enrollment period and community promotion model drives down solar marketing and advertising costs, and as people join the program, these savings are passed on to the participants through four tiers of pricing. As the price of solar panels has dropped, while utility electricity rates have continued to rise, solar energy is definitely affordable for everyone.
Going solar has never been easier. Homeowners will enjoy a free solar assessment to see if they are a good candidate for solar. Custom design, permitting, construction, interconnect with the utility, and warranty are all included in the program.
