COVID-19 Response – Updated November 10, 2020
Yes Solar Solutions instituted a safety plan for the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic in mid-March. As an “essential” business in the construction field, solar will also be a critical part of future plans for recovery and resilience. Like many other small businesses, Yes Solar is learning new paths to efficiency and technology to facilitate our processes.
Virtual Consultations for New Customers
The sales team uses a variety of technology tools for doing remote assessments and sizing and design. All of the consultation processes can be done either by phone or by one of the virtual meeting tools to meet with the customer, documents can be Docusigned. If a site visit is necessary, we have a properly equipped site specialist who can use a drone to go on the roof to take final measurements.
All of our installers wear masks. Since most of the solar installation is on the roof outside, inverters are on the side of the house, and Tesla Powerwalls are in the garage, there is almost no reason for an installer to be in the house. If there is wiring that needs to be done, through the attic for example, it is cleared with the homeowner beforehand and the electricians wear masks and gloves.
We are finding many inspectors are trying to help with the final inspection process, with some accepting a FaceTime walkthrough. At the least, there is social distancing between installers and inspectors and homeowners.
Our Administration, Management, Sales and Marketing employees are all working from home. We keep the communication lines open with a join.me morning phone meeting of the Leadership team every day at 8:30 a.m., followed by a Zoom sales meeting three mornings a week. Phones calls are forwarded to administration for quick response.
The trucks that transport our materials are disinfected at the end of the day and every morning. The few people that enter our building wear disposable gloves and masks.
Our goal is that we hope to come through this a better, more efficient and evolved company. One that did our best to provide energy generation and storage in a time of desperate need, while respecting the health and well-being of our employees and our customers. If you have any concerns about safety protocols during this time, please feel free to reach out to us.
