The purpose of Chatham Habitat for Humanity ReStores is to generate funds to build houses in partnership with people in need by selling donated merchandise at reasonable prices. Chatham Habitat for Humanity also puts rooftop solar on houses sold to low and middle-income families in Chatham County. Low and middle-income households are often the most impacted by the short and long-term impacts of climate change, and the use of renewable energy like solar has tremendous benefits for the families that Habitat for Humanity works with.
The rooftop solar system that is on the Chatham Habitat for Humanity Re-Store building in Pittsboro, NC was installed by Yes Solar Solutions. The project consists of 10.22 kW of solar using 28 REC Twin Peak 4M 365W panels and 1 SolarEdge inverter. The project is expected to save 14,504 kWh/year.
