TROSA is an innovative, multi-year residential program empowering people with substance-use disorders to be productive, recovering individuals. The building they are in used to be the old North Durham Elementary School. In late 2023, they installed a 30 kW commercial solar panel system installed by Yes Solar Solutions. The system features 81 CertainTeed 370W panels, 81 SolarEdge optimizers, and 2 SolarEdge inverters. This solar will help provide a form of sustainable clean energy to the program and its community members.
The TROSA program incorporates a therapeutic community model of treatment: asserting the importance of community; forming connections to others; empowering individuals to grow through personal responsibility and accountability to self and others.
